About Us

The Virginia Tech Business Technology Center (BTC), a Center with in the Pamplin College of Business, assists emerging and evolving technology-based businesses.  It is a resource available to entrepreneurs and businesses throughout Virginia; and is part of Virginia Tech’s statewide economic development support activities.

In its projects, the Business Technology Center, provides one-on-one consulting to entrepreneurs and businesses using its own staff as well as Virginia Tech students and faculty. All Business Technology Center projects are managed and directed by its Director, Dr. Richard Daugherty, who has degrees in civil and mechanical engineering and over 25 years experience in business strategy, new business and product development and competitive analysis.

April Wilson-Reasor, who has been with the Virginia Tech Business Technology Center since May 2003, provides administrative and technical support to the Director. She also participates in the BTC projects, assists BTC students, manages the BTC website operations and the BTC financials. April holds a bachelor's of science degree from Bluefield College in Organization Management and Leadership.

 

The Business Technology Center interacts with the entire Virginia Tech community to meet client needs; and employs outside consultants when specialized expertise is required
